Nosh Fox Valley’s Community Spotlight
Nosh Fox Valley has been blessed over the last few months that we have existed. Originally Nosh Fox Valley was started to give a little extra love and attention to restaurants that needed it as we braved through this pandemic. Our blog has been very privileged to build great relationships with many different establishments, all which we consider our friends.
We know we have made an impact for many of the businesses we have featured on this blog. We have found however that many of our friends have made an even bigger impact on our community. The Staff of Nosh Fox Valley’s would like to say thank you to these establishments.
Throughout the year Nosh Fox Valley’s Community Spotlight will feature the offerings of a local business and highlight the impact they have made on our community. With the current climate of the world, our staff felt that giving attention to heartwarming stories was something our community needed. There are many stories to share right here in the Fox Valley. If you would like to nominate a business please visit the bottom of our page.
Special thank you to our blogger, Robin who inspired this project.
Thank you to the restaurants and food industry establishments that have gone above and beyond to bless our community. The Fox Valley would not be as strong as it is without leaders like yourselves.

ZaRonis A Macaroni And Pizza Pub
When I brought up the first ideas of our community project to our blogger Robin. Her immediate reaction was that Zaronis needed to be included. Luckily Jenn who covers Oshkosh jumped at the oppurtunity to provide us with a review of a recent takeout order and interviewed Captain Zaroni himself on the impact he’s had on our community.
Thank you, Captian Zaroni and your team with blessing our community with delicous eats, and being a real life super hero to our community.
Zaronis is a pizza and macaroni and cheese pub located in Oshkosh. If you find yourself in Oshkosh, this is the place to eat! Jenn, one of our bloggers, got to talk with owner Jon Doemel (aka Captain Zaroni) to discuss his superhero-themed restaurant and how they save...
I owe it to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen for teaching me how to spell one of my favorite foods: pizza. I previously worked for a local pizzeria in Michigan for four years, so I know what to look for when choosing pizza. After moving from Michigan to Illinois, and then...
Basil Café has done a lot for our community. Community being the keyword as they support everyone’s voice, whether it be someone of a different ethnicity or someone from the LGBTQ community. They also have contributed and been recongized for their involvment in Planned Parenthood, and Harbor House.
To say they know the meaning of community is an understatement.
Thank you Basil Cafe, and Larry for contributing to our community and making sure to all inclusive in everything you do!
On a cold Saturday night in February, I ventured out to get some takeout from one of my favorite dine in restaurants in Appleton. Now, the aesthetics of a trip to Basil Café is definitely one of my favorite parts. It is like an international night out without even...
If I had to pick one of my favorite places to go in the Valley based on taste alone, it would have to be Basil Café. Their food is beyond cravable and always exciting. After an interview with their General Manager Larry Chomsisengphet, I have realized there are even...
Like many of our readers, our blogger Jenn was directly affected by loss of job during the pandemic. One restaurant owner has made it a mission to help those that are struggling from job loss, Rodney from Rodney’s Cafe. Each week he prepares hundreds of meals, along with generous donations from our community, to feed those that have suffered a job loss due to COVID.
Thank you Rodney for helping to feed and keep our community going in such a challenging time. You truly emptimize the meaning of being “in this togehter”!
Like many in the Oshkosh community, I was affected by the pandemic. It’s the reason why my finance and I moved to Oshkosh in the first place. I know that others affected by the pandemic have not been as lucky, and I’m proud to help out however I can. This month,...
Being a good neighbor while showing respect and supporting each other. That is exactly what the Hope Fridge’s project does. Offering an unbiased way to feed those struggling in the Fox Valley community. I spoke with founder TJ Hobbs about their project that started in Neenah and has expanded to the backdoor of our friends at Wagner’s Market, in this feature.
As a blogging community we are excited to have been a part of this great project and to share in the mission of being good neighbors. Thank you to TJ for speaking with us and inviting us help paint!
The Hope Fridge has been open now in Oshskosh for a few weeks. We are so excited to have been able to help this project and be able to highlight in on our blog. If you haven't please check out our previous post to learn more. I recently checked in with Kris Larson,...
Feeding Our Community - No Matter What When I was three years old, my father passed away leaving my mother to raise me as a single parent. Although I was very young at the time, I still remember my mother struggling to support as she attended college at Fox Valley...
